Nepalese culture is quite similar to the neighbor cultures of Tibet and India about clothing, language, and cuisine. A significant meal in Nepal is "dal- bhat- dal" steamed with rice, vegetables, and other spices. This dish is used twice a day: in the morning and in the evening. Between two main meals is the quick dishes such as "chira" (spicy rice) and tea. Meat, eggs, and fish are considered as a party.

Folk literature in Nepal still has the strong influence in society and its story is expressed in dance and music. The culture of different ethnic groups is rich in its own way. Newari culture is the traditional culture and brings the most significant characteristics of Kathmandu. The majority of festivals in the country comes from the Newari culture.

The crowded atmosphere on a national day in Nepal

Nepal Bikram Samwat year starts in the middle of April and is divided into 12 months. Saturday is the official day off. Some fundamental annual holidays includes the national day (December 28), Prithvi Jayanti (January 11), martyr’s day (February 18), many Hindu as well as Buddha festivals such as Teej, Dashain in the autumn and Tihar in the late autumn.

The majority of marriage is arranged, therefore; the rate of divorce is very low. Polygyny in Nepal is banned by law. However, some isolated tribes in the North such as Dolpo have multi-husband tradition. Nepal has a lot of traditional festivals such as "nwaran" (baptism for children), Pasni (the first day that the child eat), "bratabandha" (repent) and "gupha" (mark the adulthood for children).

Most of the houses in the neighborhood of Nepal are made from bamboo with mud mixed cow dung. These houses are really cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The houses in the mountain are made of wood.

Climate

Nepal has five climatic zones, depending on the height. They are the tropical climate and subtropical zones (below 1200 meters); the temperate zone (from 1200 meters to 2400 meters); the cold zone (from 2,400 to 3,600 meters); the near pole (from 3,600 to 4,400 meters); and the Antarctic zone (above 4,400 meters).

This country has five seasons: summer, monsoon, autumn, winter and spring. Especially, the Himalayas prevents the cold winds from Central Asia in the winter, therefore; it forms the northern border of the region.

Pokhara: a town located in the west is famous for many attractions. From here, you can go to the Mount Sarangkot to see sunrise and sunset, along with the snow mountain in the winter or spring.

Lumbini: is considered as the place where the Buddha was born.

Nagarkot: the best place to enjoy the Himalayas covered fully with snow.

Annapurna mountain range is one of the riskiest mountains in Nepal with 6 peaks are over 7,200 meters. It is famous for “Annapurna curve”.

Gosainkunda lake: located in the north of Kathmandu, Gosainkunda is an ice lake which has the connection with many other lakes. The Hindist visit this lake because they believe that Shive created it and the image of Shive will appear in the center of the lake. Visiting this lake, you also enjoy Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna.

Narayani river (other names: Kali Gandaki, Gandaki or Krishna Gandaki): one of the main rivers in Nepal with the rich hydro source. Tourists can book the tour including going on the paddle on the river, sightseeing and exploring the abundant flora as well as fauna in the area around the river.

Kala Patthar is a small mount which means “black rock”. This is one of the most attractive destinations in Nepal. From here, you will see Mount Everest, Nuptse Nup II, and Changtse.

Phoksundo lake: located in the Dolpo isolated area, Phoksundo is the deepest lake in Nepal but there is no life here. It not only is a sacred place of Buddhist but also attracts visitors by the clean water.

Garden of Dreams (Swapna Bagaicha): a wonderful place for relaxing with many beautiful architectures such as ponds, fountains, man-made lakes.

Chitwan national park: you will have an opportunity to see the tiger, rhino, and other wild animals.
